Why restaurants in Chennai use it

Set your meals section to show from 12 to 3, and outside those hours it moves to the end of the menu under “At other times”. Diners who walk in at 5 see the tiffin you’re serving, not a thali that’s finished.

Many regulars read Tamil faster than English. Switch Tamil on and every dish name and description is translated. If a translation isn’t how your customers say it, change it yourself; your wording stays until you change the dish’s English.

Your menu in Tamil

English is always there. Switch on up to three more languages in Settings and Slatemenu translates every dish, section and note for you. Diners choose their language at the top of the menu, and you can correct any translation from the Menu page.

Questions

More on the help page.

Can I fix a translation I don’t like?

Yes. Tap the dish on the Menu page and edit it under “In other languages”. Your wording is kept until you change that dish’s English.

Can I put today’s special at the top?

Yes. Add it as Today’s special, or turn on Today’s special for any dish. It sits at the top of the menu until midnight.

Do my customers need an app?

No. They point their phone camera at the QR code and your menu opens. No app, no sign-in.

What if my prices change?

Tap the price, type the new one and save. It’s live straight away, and the QR code stays the same, so you never reprint.
