Privacy policy

What we collect
- Restaurant owners: your email address, your restaurant’s name, menu, logo and settings, and records of payments (handled by Razorpay; we never see your card or bank details).
- Diners: nothing that identifies you. Diners don’t sign in. We count menu opens and which sections and dishes are viewed, using a cookie that only records the date of your last visit to that menu so we don’t double-count you.
Analytics on our website
On the Slatemenu website and the owner dashboard (not on restaurants’ menus that diners open), we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use them and where they get stuck. They set cookies and collect usage data such as pages visited, clicks, scrolling, and your browser and device type. Clarity also records how pages are used so we can replay a visit. Google and Microsoft process this data under their own privacy policies: Google, Microsoft. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.
How we use it
To run the service, show owners simple statistics, send login codes and billing reminders, and process payments. Menu photos you upload are sent to our menu-reading provider (OpenAI) to extract your dishes. We ask OpenAI not to store them, and we don’t keep them after reading.
Sharing
We don’t sell data. We share it only with providers we need to run Slatemenu (hosting, email delivery, Razorpay for payments, OpenAI for menu reading, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for website analytics), and when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your menu at any time. To delete your account and all its data, email support@slatemenu.com.
